France strengthens its position in global Rocket League esports

The RLCS Paris Major 2026 showcased not only top-tier competition but also France’s growing influence in the Rocket League esports scene. Once dominated by North America, the esport now sees Europe - and especially France - as a key force behind its continued growth.

The tournament drew significant attention from fans and reinforced France’s status as a key destination for top-tier Rocket League competition.

Rocket League’s competitive history is deeply connected to North America. Developed by Psyonix in Florida, the title hosted its first RLCS World Championship in Los Angeles and was initially dominated by American organizations. For several years, North America set the standard for success, producing championship-winning teams and many of the game’s biggest stars. However, European teams gradually closed the gap, with French rosters becoming increasingly successful on the international stage.

The Paris Major further emphasized that shift in power. With strong local support and consistent performances from French talent, the event showcased the region’s growing impact. As European teams continue to challenge for major titles, questions remain about whether North America can regain its former dominance.
