Interview with SLY Azula, Solary Player for EVA

Evalunna (Vitality)

Welcome and thank you for accepting this interview. Can you introduce yourself and your team briefly?

Hi, I’m Lucas, also known as Azula, 27 years old. I’ve been into video games since I was a kid, especially competitive ones, and I’ve always been heavily involved in sports as well, like football, tennis, basketball, and volleyball. My team is simple: five players, five friends, all sharing the same goal—to win everything.

Can you describe your role and daily routine within the EVA scene?

In-game, I’m quite versatile, able to play close-range, long-range, or support roles. Within the team, I’m more of a calm presence, the one who keeps things under control when tensions rise. My daily routine includes around four practice sessions per week, official matches, and a lot of analysis at home through replays and videos of other teams. EVA is a big part of my everyday life.

What makes EVA different from other video games?

The controller is your own body. You are the one playing physically.

What qualities do future pro players need?

You need good endurance, flexibility, reactivity, and explosiveness. Having a strong background in FPS games is also a big advantage.

What are the key skills to be a good EVA player?

A strong game sense that comes with experience. Since it’s a team game, good cohesion and solid strategies are essential.

Do you have a funny or memorable anecdote as a player?

Yeah, sometimes I sneak behind opponents and tap them on the back… only with people I know, of course.

Do you think age is a factor in becoming a pro player?

Yes, to some extent. But regardless of age, you need to be in top physical condition to perform.

If you could change one thing about how young players are trained in esports, what would it be?

Maybe preparing them for the fact that everything can stop overnight. It’s important to be aware of that.

What made you want to get into esports?

The adrenaline and the desire to beat the best players.

What advice would you give to someone trying to go pro?

You have to truly love the game and enjoy every match, even in defeat. Learn from others no matter their level, and most importantly, never stop persevering.

Is “Azula” a reference to Avatar?

Yes, absolutely. I was a huge fan of the show when I was younger.

Outside of esports, what other games or activities do you enjoy?

I mainly play League of Legends and Counter-Strike Global Offensive in my free time. I also have a husky named Akela, and I spend a lot of time walking with him, which helps me clear my mind and relax.

Do you think EVA will be accessible to everyone in the future?

I don’t think so. If EVA becomes accessible at home like any other game, it would lose its identity.

If you had to describe your teammates in one word each, what would it be?

Takaa is surprising, Mido is kind, Wire is proactive, and Grom is efficient.

What is your favorite game outside of EVA?

League of Legends. It’s the game that got me into competitive play, along with Call of Duty. It taught me a lot, especially about mindset. It’s like a complicated relationship you can’t let go of.

Which pro player would you like to meet?

Rekkles or Alderiate.

What is your favorite weapon and why?

The Warden, because it’s versatile and effective in every situation.

What would you improve in EVA esports?

Being even more attentive to players at all levels.

What is your favorite season and map?

Season 6, when every weapon was viable. My favorite map is Helios Station.

How did you discover EVA?

Friends invited me like it was a laser tag session, but I immediately got hooked when I saw the esports side and experienced the gameplay.

Any final message for the fans?

We’re going to give it everything we’ve got.
